
CNP Mokambo hostel Orphanage and Farm School
A secure, nurturing home for vulnerable children combined with a self-sustaining farm-school model. The project provides residential care, primary education, basic healthcare, and hands-on agricultural training to foster autonomy and long-term community resilience in Mokambo, DR Congo.
Project Identity

Size: 10 hectares total (4 ha for infrastructure, 6 ha for agriculture)
Objectives:
Provide a safe, educational, and nurturing environment for orphans and vulnerable children
Train youth in agriculture and self-reliance
Establish a durable, replicable model for local care and production
Project Components
A. Infrastructures (4 hectares)
Child and guardian housing (1.5 ha)
10 housing blocks (each housing roughly 10 children + 2 guardians)
Sleeping rooms, bathrooms, small living area, kitchen corner
Health Center (0.5 ha)
Services: primary care, pediatrics, maternity, infirmary
Staff: physician, nurses, midwife
CNP School (1 ha)
6–8 classrooms (kindergarten and primary)
Multi-purpose hall, library, computer room, offices
Play and sports area (0.7 ha)
Football field, play zones, covered creative space
Technical buildings (0.3 ha)
Central kitchen and refectory
Laundry, admin offices, storerooms
B. Agricultural Zone (6 hectares)
Food crops (4 ha)
Cassava, maize, beans, sweet potatoes, vegetables
Crop rotation and permaculture approach
